Virgo Full Moon Features

This week’s Virgo full moon has contrasting energies. Though there may be an underlying tension in the air connected with other planets, the Virgo full moon contains a creative vibe that can help you put your creative and visionary ideas into an organized action plan.

Tension by nature is not comfortable. What it does is motivate us to minimize the discomfort and this typically requires action on our part. The Virgo full moon is of the earth element indicating there is a practical and grounding energy to support taking action to ease these tensions.

This Virgo full moon happens at a time where other planetary configurations are telling their own story, like this tense quality. Astrology is about interpreting how all these different energy vibrations operate at the same time. In this case the Virgo full moon and some tension between other planets. More on that below.

The Virgo full moon features a synergy between the Moon, Sun, and a few other planets that are near the Sun, which are Jupiter, Mercury, and Neptune. There is a particular mental vibe going on that is creative, fertile, and curious. Imagine a childlike fantasy where your imagination feels limitless.

There are inspirational, visionary, and dreamy themes that can be tapped into at the Virgo full moon, plus grounded and organized vibes that want to executive our visions. It’s a sweet mix of intellectual and logistical thought meeting dreamy visions, muses, and swimming in the collective unconscious.

The Virgo full moon being an earth element can organize, analyze, and plan a strategy to manifest these inspired ideas that come up at the full moon. It is a lovely concept to dream up a vision, and then take it to the next step of planning and execution.

Virgo Full Moon: Tension and A Growth Spurt

When we fold in the other happenings in the sky at the same time as the Virgo full moon, we run into that underlying tension to make change. You can imagine that this tension will increase any desires you have to achieve or accomplish something.

This is a nice match up if you can accept tension as a catalyst for a growth spurt. When we move into an active growth period, there is usually some level of stress, tension, and discomfort. It is a natural process of the cycles life.

Though change is often reflected on as a positive thing, the process of change is not always pleasant. Think about moving to a place you are really excited about, then think about the process of moving. It’s worth the tension, discomfort, and stress, right?

We often want to engage in growth spurts because it’s worth the result, progress, improvement. Some people proactively produce change, and have personality characteristics that crave new experiences and adapt easily.

If you fall in this category, you may be excited to take on the challenges that come with growth and change. There are many who prefer to keep things as they are. When faced with tension and challenge to the status quo, they rigidly grasp tightly to keeping things the same, usually in fear of the unknown and/or grieving the loss of the past.

Change can be more difficult for the latter group. The key here is mindset, that is how you internally define and view change. Some things are hard to let go of, like a change in relationship status. It’s not about being happy about losing what was, but about getting excited about what will be.

There can be immense satisfaction that comes after a growth spurt. Even if the change was due to external events that you preferred didn’t happen and/or events that happened to you outside of your control.

How many times have you gone through change and transition, experiencing the difficulties of letting go of something, starting something new, having to work harder, or longer, only to find yourself immensely satisfied after the whole process was in the rearview mirror.

When we reflectively look back on times of transition, it becomes more clear how far you have come, and how certain tensions provoked you to grow and change. Be gentle with yourself if you are experiencing a growth spurt. Know that in time, you will look back from the future and see how far you have come.

Sometimes this tension, or push to change, comes from within, and sometimes from external events. Only you know what is going on in your life. Watch for how this energy shows up in your life, or the people in your family and social networks who may need more support as they go through growth spurts.

Virgo Full Moon Tension Indicators

This underlying tension happening at the Virgo full moon is indicated by the placements of Venus, Mars, and Saturn – which are in a challenging, action, or growth oriented relationship with – Uranus, the planet of innovation, reform, sudden change, and unexpected events.

Not everyone will experience these planetary relationships the same way, because our charts are complex and unique. What is in the sky is the same for everyone right now, but how it relates to our personal chart will be different.

This is important to remember as you are reading this and thinking, how does this relate to me, how is this reflecting my personal circumstances. You can go deeper into the meaning of the Virgo full moon sky by knowing your ascendant sign and the astrology houses.

If you do want to go deeper into your personal horoscope, read about how to do that in my blogs for the ascendant and astrology houses. Or schedule a consultation with me to read your horoscope.

Even without looking at your astrology chart, you may already be thinking, ‘oh I know where I am feeling that tension right now.’ To make the most of this time, allow yourself to take action on any creative or visionary insights that are coming to you at the Virgo full moon.

Every year we have a Virgo full moon, but we don’t always have the other planets in the same position (e.g. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto). This is what makes it unique and interesting year to year.

Take a moment to evaluate if you are experiencing tension and challenge somewhere in life. Then think about how this is a growth spurt and how you can move through this in the flow of rhythm and time.

Consider if you are holding on too rigidly to something that needs changing and be open to creative problem solving that is available right now through the planets traveling through Pisces – the sign of creativity.

Consider if you are tapping into the creative reservoir that is full of inspiration, vision, and creativity right now. If not, how can you take some time to communicate with your muses and accept flashes of insight and ideas that are abounding around waiting for you to listen.

Virgo Full Moon Possibilities

There could be a theme of trying to hold on to an outdated ideal while trying to progress forward at the same time, or breaking away from old outworn patterns and at the same time having difficulty with the change.

Tension can foster tremendous growth. If you are feeling tension, take a step back into a broader long-term view by visioning, envisioning, and opening yourself to new, fresh, and creative insights.

However, you could experience the opposite. You may go through a burst of creative energy where you have a flow of many ideas. If you are feeling full of vision and ideas, get grounded and write them down. Start making plans.

If you start feeling overwhelmed with the amount of energy flow your muses are sending you, try to channel that energy into a creative outlet. You can do typical artistic things like draw, dance, paint, sing, or play music. Listening to music can be a great way to ground your body and connect with your creative side.

Indulge in anything you enjoy creatively like cooking, going to a museum or gallery (you can even do this online these days), producing an amazing presentation, graphic design, or website. The creative outlets possible are infinite and personal.

This can be a very mentally busy Virgo full moon. Allow your thoughts to process what is needed. Journaling or vision boarding may be attractive to you at this time. If the pen and paper call, do listen and open yourself to the creativity that can flow through you.

The process of change, transition, and movement may have an innovative or humanitarian quality to it. If volunteering or helping a cause is calling you, answer the call.

Rather than resisting the uncomfortable feelings that come with growth and transformation, move through them and open yourself to the lessons that you can take away from your experiences.

The good news is that this Virgo full moon can be a very dreamy, creative, and magical time, even if there is some tension that is happening at the same time. This is especially true for Pisces people, Pisces rising, or Pisces Moon.

Water (Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio) and earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) signs may feel the more dreamy and creative vibes, and people with a lot of air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) may feel more tension, drive, and motivation to take action.

Remember that we all have these signs in our chart, all twelve of them. What I mean is that we won’t all experience this Virgo full moon energy the same way. The best way to understand this energy is to see it around you so you can best respond to the cycles of life you are living right now.

I co-host a video series called Natural Health and Astrology, with Annabelle Fraser, a naturopath and gut health specialist. Each month we talk about the energy of the full moon and essential oils that support the vibe.

This month Annabelle recommends Sandalwood essential oil for the Virgo full moon. It is a sensual, sweet, woodsy, slightly balsamic essential oil that is deeply supportive of the emotions and energy. It has many uses that tie in nicely with the Virgo full moon.

Sandalwood is protective, promotes inner unity and self-acceptance, and encourages deeper mindfulness and meditation. One of the primary sandalwood benefits is that it promotes mental clarity when used in aromatherapy.

Sandalwood is relaxing, calming, a natural aphrodisiac, astringent, antiviral and antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, an expectorant, and used in anti-aging products. You can inhale, diffuse, or rub on the heels of your feet.
