This month’s Scorpio Full Moon shines its light on where we may be experiencing stuck and stagnant energy. At the time of the Full Moon on Monday or Tuesday, depending on where you live, we will have six of the seven personal planets in fixed signs.

Is your Energy Flowing or Stagnant?
The fixed signs in the zodiac are the ones who hold down the fort, maintain the mission, and the glue that holds things together. With so much emphasis on the status quo, it’s a great time to check in with yourself to see if there are areas that have become stuck.
There are times when we need to adapt, when we need to start something, and when we need to maintain the course. But what happens when we are maintaining the course when we are past due for adapting to a situation? What happens when we are maintaining something that we need to let go?
What happens is that we get stuck. Our energy gets stagnant. We feel lethargic, scared of the unknown, and take comfort in the familiar. Worse, we bury our heads in the sand, ignore signs that a change is needed, and avoid dealing with problems that arise from this stagnancy.
This time period when fixated energy is highlighted is a perfect time to acknowledge and start the process of gently letting go of what is no longer needed. Hopefully you already got a start on cleaning out and decluttering through spring cleaning.
What is still lingering? What clutter is hanging around your home. Where is energy flow stuck emotionally, spiritually, and physically? How to recognize where you are stuck, and how to get unstuck is the fruit of this Full Moon.
If you like those free online personality tests, try this one called the ‘Growth Mindset Test.’ The results tell you if you are more inclined to a growth mindset or fixed one.

Using Cypress Essential Oil to move stagnant energy
Every month I co-host a show called Natural Health and Astrology with Health Coach and Naturopath Annabelle Fraser. We talk about the emotional quality of the Full Moon and how to use essential oils to work with the lunary energy.
This essential oil recommendation is from Annabelle, and you can purchase the oils from her if you wish. Cypress is the essential oil for motion and flow so it is a lovely oil to use during this full moon or anytime you want help to move stagnant energy and create flexibility in the heart and mind.
Cypress essential oil teaches us how to let go of the past by moving with the flow of life. It is especially indicated for people who are mentally or emotionally stuck, stiff, rigid, tense, over striving, or have perfectionist tendencies.
This hard striving comes from fear and the need to control. Take notice when you are trying to force things rather than allow them to unfold naturally.
Inhale or diffuse or apply 1-3 drops along the spine or the bottom of the feet.
To join us live every month for the Natural Health and Astrology show live, join the Facebook group Natural Health Italy. Or you can watch the replay, which will be available on my Astrology Facebook page. We record monthly on the Friday before the Full Moon.
What are Fixed Zodiac Signs and the Modalities?
There are three mode types of zodiac signs in astrology: fixed, cardinal, and mutable. Cardinal signs get things going and represent the beginning of a season. They are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The mutable signs are adaptable, changeable, and represent the changing of the season to the next. They are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
The fixed signs are the ones who maintain the season and hold things together. They represent the month in the middle of each season. They are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
If you have an abundance of one of these modalities in your chart, you may really resonate with their meanings of starting, maintaining, or adapting and changing.
We all experience the astrological weather together, day by day. But our unique experience of the weather is dependent on our chart. You will discover more information on where stuckness shows up in your chart by finding where the fixed signs are in your chart.

The Full Moon in Scorpio
This Full Moon will be shining its light through the deeply introspective and fixed sign of Scorpio. The Moon can only reflect the light of the Sun, which is beaming through the fixed sign of Taurus. This is a stop, pause, and contemplate type of Full Moon.
The Full Moon in Scorpio points you to go inside, get in touch with your deepest emotions, and have an honest heart to heart with yourself. Scorpio is a water sign and so your emotions and feelings will be stirred by this introspective journey. With Taurus involved, there will be a practical energy to help you stay grounded in your self journey.
You can glean some wonderful self-knowledge by using this energy to evaluate if and where you are experiencing stuck energy. Full Moons are times for releasing. Use this time to find stuck imbalances, and do a full moon releasing ritual to dislodge the stuckness and get the energy moving.
Scorpio is known for having incredible insight, research skills, and stamina for investigating hidden things. Be a detective in your own life and seek out blockages that need to be cleared out. With so much fixed energy in the astro weather, stuck spots may be easier to find, more obvious, or manifest as a problem.
We have talked about the sign Taurus being involved in this months Full Moon configuration. The sign Aquarius is also part of the action. This Aquarian interaction (aspect) through the planet Saturn is called a square. In astrology squares are growth oriented. They present challenges that force us to take action.
Using the Full Moon Energy
Expect resistance. Even denial. But if you are reading this, you are already a seeker. You are looking for ways to better yourself, self-growth, and improve your well-being. So as you are in the process of working with this energy, you can acknowledge it, be present with it, be compassionate towards it, and continue with your self-development.
Push through uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and memories and hone in on areas in your life that are stuck. Resistance and denial are clues that let you know you are on the right track. Recognizing stuck emotions, relationships, and life situations is a big first step. Do not pressure yourself to make big changes.
Just focus on finding the stagnant and stuck energy. Then you can move on to slowly dissolving, purifying, and moving it along. Start with self-honesty about these three areas of life.
Are you satisfied with your relationships? Are you satisfied with your work and/or hobbies? Are you excited to wake up and face the day or do you want to stay in bed all day?
Sometimes we are stuck in one place, but everything else is dandy. Like you are totally happy with your partner, but your job is an energetic drain.
Others may find they are dissatisfied across the board. Give yourself compassion wherever you fall. Once you have an idea of where/if there is a stuck place in your life. Then you can start to put together a plan for getting unstuck.
Do not go at it alone. I repeat, do not try and clear out blockages alone. Okay maybe I am being overly dramatic. I know how difficult it can be when you are stuck. I know having a support system makes a huge difference for moving forward.
Your support system can be anyone you trust, who will be a cheerleader, and not a negative voice causing you to doubt yourself. If it’s in your budget, I highly recommend getting a coach, therapist, or mentor.
Scorpio Releasing Ritual
Every month I put together ideas for how you can do a Full Moon releasing ritual based on the configuration of the planets. The unique feature of this year’s Scorpio Full Moon is having the square aspect that I mentioned above.
The square is coming from the planet Saturn in Aquarius. Saturn is the planet of structure, discipline, and growth from effort and hard work. The nice thing is that Saturn is in a sign he rules, so he is really happy here, and won’t be as grouchy as he can be in other signs.
Efforts you make in your releasing ritual can have long-term effects. Growth may be slow, but it will be consistent and the results will be long-lasting. Identifying your stuck areas and doing a releasing ritual under this full moon is a perfect way to tap into this energy.
Scorpio Full Moon Releasing Ritual Ideas
Scorpio is a water sign, so anything including water in your releasing ritual is recommended. Of the three water signs, Scorpio has the deepest waters, and the most still. I always think of Scorpio when I hear ‘the water runs deep.’
Scorpio is known for honesty, profound thought, and deep reflection. Keep those things in mind as you are putting together your releasing ritual. Here are ideas to get you started:
Listen to a guided meditation
Throw out some clutter
Read up on Feng Shui and create space for energy flow
Get floating candles and light them in bowls all around you
Spend time alone with all electronics off
Do free online personality tests
Do anything that has purification, renewal, and cleansing meaning to you
Do a body cleanse or detox
Spend some time in a sauna sweating out stagnant energy and purifying your system
Get a body salt scrub, wrap, or mud bath
Exfoliate your skin
Soak in a deeply reflective and soothing bath. Make it warm, with soft candles and meditative music.
Do bodywork like yoga and stretching to create flow through your body, mind and soul while staying present in the moment
Listen to water music like drips and soft rain, or gregorian chants, gongs and mantras
Drink purified water
Meditate
Eat clean, non GMO, organic food for the 2 weeks after the Full Moon
Move stagnant energy in your home using sage or citrus essential oils
Use the color black for Scorpio rituals
A Scorpio trait that you can concentrate on is power, as in empowerment. As you are evaluating what to release, and what is stagnant in your life, also consider what brings you the sense of being in control. What power puts the air beneath your wings?
When you are releasing, you are opening space. What are you going to to do with this space? When you clear away clutter and get stuck energy moving, what will change? What will it look like to be unstuck?
The answers to these questions will give you the information needed to design your individual and unique to you Full Moon Releasing Ritual.
The Full Moon Releasing Ritual for the Water Element
Plan ahead so you have a private and quiet space
If possible do some home decluttering by donating or throwing out unneeded things
Get all your ritual supports in place (candles, essential oils, rocks, sage, etc.)
Stretch and take some deep breaths to calm and relax the body and mind
Fill a container with water
Meditate on the water and imagine you are releasing that which is stuck into the water
Release until you feel the stagnant energy has moved into the water
Take the water and throw it in the loo / toilet and flush it away
Cleanse yourself with the sage or essential oils
Take a shower or bath as a purification ritual
Spend the rest of the day relaxing in solitude
After Your Ritual
Journal about your new visualization. If you already have a journal, reflect back on your growth and successes.
Accept, acknowledge and love that you are taking care of yourself.
Create a mantra of your visualization for change. Mantras are powerful tools and best repeated daily. It helps you focus on what you want, not what you don’t.
Meditate on your visualization a few minutes every day. Use this visualization again at the New Moon to help manifest your intentions.
Tips:
Set a time everyday where you will make contact with your visualization.
Put your Mantra on a sticky note and place where you see it everyday.
Use your replacement visualization and use your mantra when the release returns.
Repeat your mantra, it takes away the space for the release to return.
Wrap Up
This full moon is a great opportunity to do some self reflection, decluttering, and to move stagnant energy. Use the full moon releasing ritual to identify and release blockages. I hope these ideas stimulate you to take a deep and contemplative journey on the most important thing in your life, you!
May you release your blockages and blossom like spring flowers.
